Nina and Ralph Fette have lived on St. John for many years.  He is a firefighter and she has captained boats and worked in bars several places across the island.  As longtime St. John residents, both see the need for greater recycling on the island.   Nina has worked in bars upcycled colorful glassesfor over 20 years and has seen glass beer, wine and liquor bottles just being thrown away, so she figured out a way to upcycle some of them into reusable glasses, candles or lights.   Ralph uses his tile saw to cut the bottles then they 5-part hand recycled carlsberg beer bottlessand them to a smooth finish.   Hand sanding, therefore, reducing their carbon footprint just that much more.  This transforms old beer, wine and liquor bottles into nifty drinking vessels, candles or pendant lights.  Recycling/Upcycling glass is one of the many ways we can help reduce pollution and waste. Everyday we throw away tons of rubbish and glass is a significant part of it. Instead of letting landfills pile up with glass objects that are a threat to safety and the environment, we can use them again.  By cutting off the top orRalph and Nina Fette FullCircle bottom and hand sanding the  bottles to a smooth finish you can make beautiful drinking vessels, candles or lights.  If you are interested in any of the glassware on our Recycled Glasses , Candles  or Lights pages  please email us at ninaralph@hotmail.com.  We do all by hand so there are some imperfections and we might not have everything available all the time.    We also do not mind custom orders.  If you live on St. John just email us at ninaralph@hotmail.com.   Check out  our blog page  to see hints on how to do this yourself .   As we get new bottles and ideas we will post them here so check back regularly!
